From Lee Kroencke:
 Notice
The Outlaw Cigar Company Chili Cook-off would like to announce due to the untimely death of Shawnee Kansas Firefighter John Glaser, the proceeds from the upcoming July 31st cook-off will now benefit the JOHN GLASER FOUNDATION.

John lost his life in the line of duty in a house fire on May 22,2010. Firefighter Glaser left behind a wife and 2 children. John was a loving father and devoted husband.

His wife, Amber, who was his childhood sweetheart, released the following statement:
"John died doing something he loved. Knowing that, as well as the outpouring of support from the community, has been a tremendous help to us as we deal with his passing."

Glaser, 33, had decided to become a firefighter after 9/11. At his funeral service, fire chief Jeff Hudson said Glaser gave his life serving his community.

"John gave his life without hesitation while searching a home in very dangerous conditions because he thought someone was trapped in that burning home and he might be able to save them," he said.

Firefighters will also be on hand at the Chili Cook-off to sell shirts and raise additional monies for the foundation.

If you would like to donate but are unable to attend the cookoff, please contact Lee Kroencke at gladiatorchili@yahoo.com
