From Ken Rodd:
STOLEN VEHICLE

My vehicle was stolen on May 5th during daylight hours and I called 911 immediately. I was completely surprised when the 911 operator told me they could not do anything until I provided BOTH the vehicle VIN NUMBER and license plate number. I knew the license plate number but not the VIN!!!! I was not too far from home-got a ride home and got the VIN number and called again and the police started the process about an hour later. I recommend everyone carry their vehicle PIN number in their wallet or purse along with license plate number so 911 can react faster. The police told me that most reported thefts are delayed because people don’t have this information on their first call.

Vehicle theft in Texas is at an all time high, especially ¾ ton and 1 ton trucks and they do not have enough personnel to handle this big increase making recovery most difficult at best. Write down these numbers for all your vehicles and make sure all drivers have them on their person.

It is Wednesday and time to post the CCOs for this weekend!

NOTE:  After my IV Therapy today, Cliff and I will be leaving for Synder for the weekend of festivities.  I will try to post both tomorrow and Friday, but it will not be as early as I usually do the posting.  I will be able to receive my email and you can always (almost always!!) reach me by my cell phone.  I can not take my phone into the area where they put me in the hyperbaric tube, but I do check it for messages when I am finished and out of that area.  This will be the first trip that Cliff and I have taken since Nov.  My brother-in-law is coming to help my Mother.
