From Jen Windsor:
Just got word from my Dad that my Grandmom passed this morning. Jack and I will be leaving tomorrow after work for Eastport, Maine. Eastport is a tiny fishing community at the eastern most tip of Maine, it is practically in Canada.  Her name was Arlene Lawler and she was 102.

Please keep Jen and Jack in your prayers.

NOTES:  Some days I get some very interesting emails.  I received one of those this week and asked permission to share it with all of you.  I got that permission, so here it is:

"About thirty years ago I received this card, along with an invitation to attend the Terlingua event, from Frank Tolbert. It doesn't carry a date or membership number, but I wonder if I would still be considered a CASI member today?

Just ran across your website, which brought back many fond thoughts of chili cookoffs I competed in back in the early part of the 1980s. Thanks for the memories!

Sincerely,
Martin Brown

He is donating this card to us for our museum!  Martin, a big THANKS for sharing this.  Hopefully we will see you down the Chili Trail!

Here's hoping everyone has a fun and safe weekend.  Hopefully, some of us will get to cook chili and maybe get some points!  Just think "Spring is right around the corner!"  Maybe that means that it will be a nice weather for cooking chili this weekend!  Good Luck to each of your cooking!
