From Harvey West:
Many of you have probably heard there has been a renewed interest in the CASI Museum. Ed Blair and I rekindled the idea at Terlingua this past year and Ed appointed me to research the idea. The museum was further discussed at the Directors meeting in Irving. After talking with many of you I have not found anyone that is in disagreement that we should proceed with building a museum.

I have done quite a bit of researched and spoken to several to find out what it will take to turn this idea into a reality. Larry Franall started the Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine at Sul Ross University. Larry thinks the CASI museum is a great idea and is willing to help us. After a long discussion with Larry, there are several things we need to do and have in order to get the museum off the ground. The very first thing we need is a committee willing to work and produce a plan.

At the Directors meeting, it was decided that The Apple Dumpling Gang become the committee to handle the museum. The Apple Dumpling Gang is a group of Ex directors that originally joined together as a group with no particular reason or purpose in mind but now we have one. As most of you know this is a great group of people to make this museum happen because at some time or another everyone in the group has started almost everything in CASI.

Our first agenda is deciding what we would like to have in the museum and where the museum should be built. Should we build this on site or in Terlingua, Study Butte or somewhere else.

How big do you think it should it be. What should we put into it. We need all ideals in order put this together. Let any of the Ex directors know what your thoughts are and maybe we can have a plan together by the Great Peppers Meeting. You can also Email me at Harvey@westplumbing.net.

 Thanks

Harvey West
