From Shirley Bates:
Well it is almost time for the Black Gold Pod Cookoff in Crane at the City Park May 14 and 15 and we are getting excited! We will have our usual Fried Catfish Supper on Friday night and there will be breakfast on Saturday morning for all of the cooks.

Chili Turn-in is at 2 pm for adults. There will be a Jr (Youth) cookoff also.  Their turn in time for their chili is noon.  Any young person under the age of 18 can enter this competition.

On Saturday evening, we will have a supper featuring Chicken strips, French Fries and gravy as well as any potluck additions. After this meal, we will have the 42 tournament and just relaxing in the park under the shade trees.

A Sunday cookoff is also planned with the usual noon turn-in.  This is another chance for cooks who need the last few points to get them here and to qualify for TICC.

Come join us. You still have time to pack up and come to Crane, TX for the "Cookoff in the Park!!"

From Lee Kroencke:
Don't forget the two day Kansas State Championship and Gladiator Pod cookoff is this weekend. Its just off I-35 (less than a mile).  There are two chances for cooks to win Wendell Rankin's stoves, and just have a general blast!

It's at the Overland Park VFW and there is room for your camper too!

Free BBQ dinner Sat night, and Free Breakfast Sunday.

The Weatherman says the temperature will be in the upper 60s both days! Perrrfect for Chili.

If you need any details or more directions, etc. email gladiatorchili@yahoo.com  Hope to see you there!

TABLE AND CHAIRS FOR KRAZY FLATS

At the Winter Board of Director's Meeting, it was decided to purchase 20 tables and 100 chairs for Krazy Flats to be used for the BBQ Contest and other activities. At the present time, if we need table and chairs at Krazy Flats, they must be carried to Krazy Flats from the Judging Pavilion and then returned for any activity requiring their use. This is causing extra wear and tear on them as well as the people who must get them from one place to the other. We do have the facility to store these tables and chairs at Krazy Flats.

If you or your pod would like to sponsor the purchase of either the tables or the chairs, we would welcome this. To purchase a table the price is $100.00. To purchase a set of 4 chairs, the price is $50.00. If you or your group would like to sponsor one or more of these items, please contact either David Sexton or myself. The checks should be made out to CASI and sent to either myself or David. David's address is
