From Barbara Herrin:
Once again I would like to invite you to come join the Concho Valley Chili Pod for our annual two-day Memorial Day Cook-off to be held this weekend at Water Valley Park. The charity for Saturday will be D.E.S.K. and Sunday will be the pod cook-off. The festivities will start out on Friday night with a potluck “sandwich” supper. On Saturday morning we will have potluck breakfast with breakfast casseroles provided. Saturday night will feature a brisket and ribs supper. On Sunday morning we will have potluck breakfast with breakfast casseroles provided. Sunday night will feature a hotdog supper. Side dishes would be appreciated for the meals.

There will be a cake auction on Saturday and a raffle on Sunday. There will be a 50/50 raffle on both days.

Turn in times for both days will be 1:00 for Jackpot beans and 2:00 for chili.

Since Monday is a holiday, several of us plan to spend the night on Sunday and just chill out. Come chill out with us.

NOTE:  Tom Green county is under a Fire Ban.  We have checked with the authorities, there can not be an open fire, but, we can use our propane stoves.  We will also have Ice available and for sale on site starting Friday.
