Besides CASI Chili there will be Jackpot Beans, Salsa, Dessert and Hot Wings along with Jr.Chili.There is plenty of RV parking next to Colet Inn Bar and Grill.  A Silent Auction and Raffle will also be held to help benefit Vasa Pod local charities. Hello our there. A friend of mine from work was in Blackwell last weekend and the people holding this cookoff are friends of hers and she had asked me to send out this flyer.This is a CASI sanctioned event.  She said that last year the cookoff turnout was low because of very bad weather. Anyway, if your out in that part of Texas and looking for a cookoff the first weekend in June, please consider this cookoff. Thanks everyone.
 




It is WEDNESDAY and here are the CCOs for this weekend.  There are 12 CCOs on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.  There are CCOs all over the country.  Here's hoping you find one to attend.

May 14, 2011-001 - Cleburne, TX CASI. Cleburne Elks Lodge CCO. Hwy 67 and FM 1434. Lodge phone 817- 645-9079. Entry fee is $20 with turn-in at 2 PM for CASI and Elks Division. CHILI GRIND ONLY. It benefits Elk's charities. There will be Jackpot Beans with an entry fee of $5 and turn-in is  Noon. There are RV hookups with a fee of $10 per night on a first come, first serve bases.  The sites have electric and water only, with a dump station on site. There will be alive band Saturday night. May 14, 2011-002 - Crane, TX CASI. Black Gold Pod Cookoff.  It will be held at Crane County Park on 6th St. There are limited hook-ups. It benefit the Black Gold Pod. Entry fee is $18.00. Turn-in is at 2:00 P. M.  Also, there will be a Jr CCO the same day.  The entry fee is $5.00 and turn-in is at 12:00 noon. Make checks payable to Black Gold Chili Pod. There will be Raffle Items and a 50/50 drawing.  There will be a  fish-fry Friday night and 42 domino tournament Saturday night. May 14, 2011-003 - Combine, TX CASI. 1st Annual Chamber of Commerce CCO and Antique Car Show. It will be held at the Corner of FM 1389 and FM 3039 behind Shell Station in the empty lot at the NW corner. There will be a Fish Fry and Crawfish Boil, 50/50 Raffle, amd live Music which starts at 10:00 AM. This benefits Combine Area Chamber of Commerce. Local CCO entry fee is $20.00 with turn-in at 12:00 Noon. From11:00 AM to 1:00 PM there will be People's Choice chili competition with one trophy. The ballots and cups will be sold by Combine Chamber of Commerce at $2.00 each. There will be goodie bags for the first 48 cooks. Cooks please bring throw down chili for peoples choice chili event. Jack Pot Beans entry fee is $5.00 and turn in is at 12:00 Noon with 100% payback (1st 50%, 2nd 30% and 3rd 20% of pot). CASI CHILI (CHILI GRIND ONLY) entry fee is $20.00 Turn in is at 1:00 PM. May 14, 2011-004 - Amarillo, TX CASI. Homers Backyard Ball World Championship Calf Fry and BBQ Cookoff. It will be held at I-40 East and Whitaker Rd next to Splash Water Park. It benefits Make-A-Wish for Kids Wishes. Entry fee is  $25 with turn- in at 2 PM. There will be a Cook's party Friday night, and live bands on Saturday. Packets will be distributed at the entry gate when you arrive. Gates open 8 AM on May 13. There will be 50/50 beans, turn in at noon. Goody bags will be given to the first 30 cooks. There will be People's Choice Chili. Proceeds benefit the LISD Backpack program. Registration starts at 8AM with free coffee and donuts. RV parking available, no hookups. CASI Sanctioned, and benefiting the Fabens area Food Bank. Cook's meeting is at 10:00 am and turn-in is 2:00 pm. Entry fee is $20.00 and is payable to the Pod of the Pass. May 14, 2011-009 - De Leon, TX CASI. Cowboy Capital Pod Chili Cookoff. Chili entry fee is $20 and it is chili grind only. Turn-in is at 2 pm.  Beans entry fee is $10 with a 50-50 pay out and turn-in is12 noon. This is the 1st of 3 weekend buckle series. Buckles will be awarded on Super C Labor Day at the Lake Music Festival and Chili Cook Off, Dublin, TX. May 14, 2011-011 - Overland Park, KS CASI. Kansas State Open Championship. Held at VFW Post #846 which is located at 8804 Grant, Overland Park, KS. Take 87th Street east off I-35 for 1 mile to Grant, turn right, the VFW is 600' on the right. Winner receives a beautiful Wendell Rankin stove, and automatically qualifies for the Terlingua International Chili Cook-Off. CASI rules apply. CHILI GRIND ONLY. Entry fee is $20.00 for CASI, $20.00 for HOME STYLE, or $30.00 for both. Turn in times are 1:00 pm for CASI, and 2:00 pm for HOMESTYLE. Benefits local VFW charities.
