From Paul Vercontaire:

Everyone,
Congratulations on a very successful fund raising event for the White Mountain Hospice Foundation.

We estimate over 2500 people attended the Chili Cook-Off & Western Tradeshow. Revenue from the sale of chili tasting cups, pepsi, hot dogs, beer, water, tee shirts and our 50/50 & Raffle exceeded our expectations.

Please visit the link below to see over 140 photos take by our official photographer (my wife Nancy)
http://chilicookoffwesterntradeshowinth.shutterfly.com/

On behalf of Travis and me, thanks to all who volunteered to help out at the event, without your support it could not have happened.

Also, a special thanks to Nancy for the great photos.
Our bests to all,
Travis and Paul

Trivia from Bill Pierson:

Today marks the 75th anniversary of the killing of John Dillinger, the FBI's first "Public Enemy No. 1." While Dillinger was born in Indiana, died in Chicago, he made his name in the central midwest robbing banks, there is a Texas connection.

In the spring of 1966, a group of UT grad students were "celebrating" one student's thesis presentation on the Thompson submachine gun. One of the group, a Dr. Horace Naismith claimed to be Dillinger's illegitimate son, and the "John Dillinger Died For You Society" was born.

Naismith's real name is Bill Helmar. He spent his career as a senior editor for Playboy Magazine in Chicago. He even parlayed his thesi into a book, :The Gun That Made The Twenties Roar." Helmar now lives in Bourne.
