NOTES from the Summer Board of Directors Meeting:

The Senior Graduating class of 2011 at the Terlingua High School  consisted of 8 students (5 girls and 3 boys).  Four of the girls have plans to pursue advanced education.  One of the girls is planning on Med School and another is hoping to be a Veterinarian.

The Doug Moreland band has been chosen as the band to perform at TICC this year.  He is from Austin, TX.  Check out his web site  http://www.dougmoreland.com/DM/Home.html.

As of June 15, 2011, the total number of CASI Chilis Judged for those CCOs reported to the Tally Master is 11,202 and there are 239 qualified cooks and 117 Show Teams.  There have been 369 CCOs reported.

Jul 9, 2011-001 - Batavia, IL CASI. Batavia Viking Lodge Chili Cookoff Held at the Batavia Viking Lodge at 104 Van Nortwick Ave (NE corner of Van Nortwick and Houston St) in Batavia. Cookoff will benefit the Independent Order of Vikings Burn Camp and the Batavia Inter-faith Food Pantry. Turn-in time is 2:00 pm, entry fee $20.00. Jul 9, 2011-002 - Burleson, TX CASI. 2nd Annual Cooter Brown's CCO Held at 473 East Renfro, Burleson, Tx 76028. Take 35 W south from Ft Worth, exit Renfro (exit # 36) turn left on Renfro, go back under I-35. Go east on Renfro approxmately a mile and you will see Cooter Browns on the left. On site RV parking (No Hookups). Benefits Puppy Mill Rescue. Free painted Coleman Stove to first place Chili winner. $18.00 entry fee and $5.00 beans. Turn in times: beans 12 noon, chili 2 PM. Ground meat only. DJ and Karaoke music Fri nite and all day Sat. Drink specials to all cooks and their support team. Jul 9, 2011-004 - McDade, TX CASI. 10th Annual Star Ranch Chili Cookoff. Held at Star Ranch, 166 Eely Rd. McDade is 35 miles East of Austin on Hwy 290. Turn off 290 beside the white church onto Waco St. Go across RR tracks and turn left onto Brown Rd. Go approx. 2 miles and then turn left on Eely Rd. Follow signs to Star Ranch. Entry fee $18.00 Turn in 3:00 PM. Charity TBA. Cooks meal Friday night at 7:30. Come out and support this CASI Corporate Sponsor. RV hookups and rental cabins available. Nature trails, tennis, volleyball and petanque courts, 2 swimming pools, hot tub and rec room. Parade in McDade same day.(No open fires, charcoal grills allowed in designated area only).
