From Larry Velasquez

Regional Referee – Kansas
In regards to the CASI Board deciding not to have a Newsletter of the Year award for this year, what’s that old saying –“you don’t change horses in the middle of the stream”. I feel it would be better to finish the current “chili year” and then make your decision. What better way to promote CASI than through communicating with fellow chiliheads and sponsors – are we just dropping this effort? The Gladiator Pod has been leaving copies of the Terlinuga Trails, along with our newsletter, at various spice stores and eating/drinking establishments to further promote CASI. We don’t plan on discontinuing our newsletter but recognition to those whose great efforts continue in this venture should be rewarded.

NOTE:  If you want to enter the Poster Contest with your artwork, please send it to me by next Friday.

I have received several of the Annual Reports.  Thanks to all of you who are sending this report to me early.  It will give me extra time to process it.

Are you looking for something what will give your life some extra excitment?  Run for a position on the CASI Board of Director's Meeting!!!!!

If you are a CASI Scholarship repient and have not sent your last semester grades to Barbara Herrin, they are over due!  Please send them now.

It is Friday and time to plan for the weekend.  Here in West Texas, it is still going to be hot with no rain.  May you have a great weekend, and if you are cooking chili, here's hoping you win!  Pray for Rain!!!
