Following is a note from John Fowler. It is about the Friday, January 13th charity (The Santa Clause Club) in Rocky Point Mexico. This is the day before the International Cookoff (auto-qualifier) Both cookoffs are held in the same location. It will be on the beach at the RV park. Included is the phone number and e-mail for the Baja Cantina and Hotel.
We went into the barrios with one load Friday and one load on Saturday. We delivered 19 bikes, 400 pounds of clothes and 40 pair of shoes. We are getting ready for our 29th Christmas and need everyone's help. We are collecting blankets, shoes, clothes, bikes, food and toys to be delivered during the holidays. It's the time to get involved. These people need your help. They have no jobs and there is no way for them to earn a living and feed their families. You have had fun in Rocky Point and we need to put some back. Thanks to everyone that sent in dues and a reminder to everyone else dues are still only $20.00 a year. Don't forget these people in their time of need. We have a facebook page with photos of where we are working and the people we are helping. Our facebook page is John C Fowler III and the web page is www.santaclausclub.org with more information. Thank for all your past support. Baja’s Hotel phone number from the states is 602-559-1705 and e-mail is bajamiker@gmail.com Please Contact me at 520-298-5838 for information. Both cookoffs are also listed in the ucomings.
From Traci Bond:
The Texas Hill Country Pod would like to thank all of those who came out to support us December 3rd! It was a muddy mess when we left, but the rain held off on Saturday just long enough for us to enjoy the day! We had 55 chili cooks, 21 beans, and 13 green chilis judged. The soup off was a hit as usual with lots of yumminess to warm our bellies! Thank you to all who helped monitor and judge. Thanks to Jeanette Cardenas for being our head judge, Mary Ellen Gillen and Debbie LaLanne for running registration, Sue Ann Brooks and gang for tally, Margaret Nadeau and Susan Dean for monitoring our final table, the Livingston’s and Jim Stateczny for helping with our announcements, Hill Country Software (Jim and Shirley Stateczny) for donating the beer and food for the cooks party and all of our pod members who made donations for the raffle and helped with cleanup!
