The 45th Terlingua International Chili Championship will be held at Rancho CASI de los Chisos in Terlingua.

Thursday, November 3rd is the 3rd Annual Tequila Rose Barbeque Contest, featuring competition cooking in chicken, pork spare ribs, and brisket. This event is sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbeque Society and you can get more details by calling Tim Collier at

There will also be a Tequila Rose dessert contest with a $15.00 entry fee.

CASI Scholarship Day will be on Friday, November 4th and features competition in salsa, Hot Wings and beans. Everyone can enter any of these contests and have the chance to win cash prizes!

The 45th Terlingua International Chili Championship will be Saturday, November 5th. Qualified Chili cooks from all across the United States will be competing, and judging begins at High Noon. Qualified Showmanship teams will begin their competition at 12:30.

Judges are needed for all events, and more details are available at chili.org.

Admission is $30.00 per person for all 3 days (Nov. 2nd-5th) or $10.00 for Saturday, Nov. 5th, only. Admission includes 3 nights of live music from Texas Country Music Star Doug Moreland.

A burn ban is in effect for Brewster County and Fireworks are Prohibited. Campground fires will be allowed with some restrictions, please ask about those at the front gate. Propane stoves, grills & barbeque pits are permitted for cooking, and fire extinguishers are requested at all cooking areas.
