We are back from Puerto Vallarta as of an hour ago. I am posting everything as I read my emails. Sorry some of these are so late being posted, but did not have internet access while we were there.

From LARRY VELASQUEZ

Well the results are in from a great day of chili, charity, and fun in Topeka. DC "Big Dog" Hannah made everyone feel welcome, and as the cigar smoke cleared, and after all the raffle winners were called, this is how "Big Dog" put it, "We raised $540 after expenses- not bad for a day's worth of fun!"

FYI From Bucky Seelig:

The June Terlingua Trails boxes were sent with the mailing labels from April. I contacted Kerrville Daily Times and could not get verification of the error, but some of the people that emailed to say they got boxes they had not asked for matched the April list. Kerrville said they send the labels list to a temporary file until they are printed and then delete the file so they could not verify for sure. About a third of the boxes went to where they were supposed to go since some people were on both lists. By the time I figured out what happened and spoke with Kerrville, it was too late to redo the screw up without reprinting and re-mailing everything.

Also from Bucky Seelig:

If you are bored with TV reruns, wondering what to do, needing to kill some time, try visiting the CASI web site to view the July issue of the Trails. See if your friends have qualified before you, plan your summer cooking schedule, and of course read all of the articles. Hope everyone enjoys the current issue. If not, send me some info to print.

From Johnye Harriman:

In honor of Colleen Wallace, I have established a "Virtual Lemonade Stand" where you can buy a glass of lemonade and make a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The site is co-sponsored by Electrolux vacuum cleaners and each donation enters you into a drawing (kind of secondary, don't you think?). Anyway, please note the box to select the amount of your donation. And, the site has the recipe for some great-sounding lemonades!

Thanks for your support!

From Dave Hewlett:

Well it was hot and there was a small turn out for the temperary Hella Shrine CCO. The next one will be the end of Feb 2010 which is back to the orginal date.

The Hella Shriners did a very good job setting up and running the CCO. Thanks to them and all the cooks that braved the heat and came out.
