ST. Paul Lutheran Memorial CASI Chili & BBQ Cook Off will be held Saturday March 19th 2011 at Tonkawa Falls Park in Crawford,TX.  This is off Hwys 317 and 185. There are full Hookups $15.00 a night.  Here is the schedule:


Bake Sale & Silent Auction from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Jackpot bean entry $10 Turn in time 11:00 am
CASI Chili Entry Fee $18.00 Turn in Time 2:00 pm CHILI GRIND ONLY !!!!!
Junior Cook Off Entry Fee $10 Turn in time 1:00 pm EVERYTHING WILL BE PROVIDED ! ( But if cooks can bring a extra set of spices, pots, spoons,or stove it will be appreciated)

BBQ LSBS Rules $65.00 for 1 or all meats
Chicken turn in Noon
Rib Turn in 1:00 pm
Brisket turn in 3:00 pm

This is the only fund raiser they do all year, so let's come out and really show them what we can do and have a great time doing it.  So far the weatherman is predicting nice weather!!!!!! The Meridian Chamber of Commerce held it's 1st Annual CASI Chili & Goat Cook Off at the Bosque Bottoms on Saturday 3-12-2011 and the Next Day Cook Off on Sunday 3-13-2011.  We had pleasant weather with a lot of wind on Saturday, and a little wind on Sunday.  I would like to truly THANK ALL of the Cooks who came out.  Without you, it would not have happened. Thank Yous to Donna Conrad for being my Head Judge; my monitor Bob Pulliam; my Tally crew : Donna Conrad, Jason Goains, and Debbie Roberts. Unfortunately, we did not have enough cooks to sanction the cook off for Saturday. So now for the results.

Cookoff

We are planning our State of Alabama POD Annual Chili Cookoff.  It will be held June 25, 2011, at Oak Mountain State Park, AL.  Plenty of room for cooking, picnicking and fun at Lakeside Pavilion in the beautiful Oak Mountain State Park. Park entrance is 15 miles South of Downtown Birmingham at exit 246 off I-65. The Park has 85 RV improved sites available. Call 1-800-ALA-PARK for information and reservations. Entry fee will be $20. Turn in time is 2 p.m. Our charity will be SOAP Charities. Additional details to follow.  

In General
Two heads are better than one, and I am sure one hundred heads are better than two. We want your membership and/or suggestions. We want you to participate in our POD cookoff and appreciate any ideas you have that may be helpful for executing this CCO. Finally, thank you for taking time to read this article and learn what we want to do here in "Sweet Home Alabama."
