Want a place to have a great weekend of fun and chili cooking?  Bring your Valentine and come to Water Valley, TX.  We will have Chili, Charity and Fun.  This is our annual St Valentines Day Massacre CCO.  Saturday, there will be Jackpot beans competition which has an entry fee of $5.00 and a turn in time of 1:00 PM.  Chili entry fee will be $18.00 with a turn in time of 2:00PM.  On Sunday, the Chili turn in time will be 12:00 noon.  We will have a stew supper for all on Friday night and a Mexican Supper on Saturday night.  This time there will not be any water hook ups due to vandalism at the park.  There will be electricity.  Tom Green County is repairing the damage, but because of the extreme cold last week, the water spigots have not been replaced.  If the weather is bad, we will be able to cook in the judging building, but the forecast promises 70 degree weather.  For more information, contact Sherry Maus 325- 658-1364 or Janice Miller at 325 940 8753.

Well ladies, what happened???  For the SECOND year in a row, the prized Bronze Horn Toad has been won by a man...congratulations to MIKE TRACY of Odessa, Texas!  Mike won 1st place at the 11th Annual Horn Toad Roundup and CCO in Rankin, Texas. It was a nice warm day in Rankin and 53 cooks showed up from San Antonio to Amarillo to cook a pot of chili in hopes of winning the Bronze Horn Toad,
cast by Lloyd Goldwire. We had everyone from first time cooks to cooks that have been here every year for the past 11 years to cook for that toad.  CASI ED, Janice Miller was even on the scene. We all fired up our stoves, stirred our pots and said a little prayer when we turned in our cups.

For the first time ever, we had 3 cooks from Rankin!

When the tallying was done, Boomer picked up the microphone and as he began to call out numbers, a hush fell over the crowd.......
