From Kelly Brignon:
Even with the ice and snow, we still had a good turnout for the 10th Annual Gingerbread House CCO. We had 21 cooks Friday, 41 on Saturday and 19 on Sunday. I'm so thankful and appreciative of everyone who braved the bad weather to come out and support the NOW Pod and our charity, the Ellis County Children’s Advocacy Center (The Gingerbread House). We had a successful Liquor Basket raffle, Larry Preston of Irving won the Wendell Rankin Raffle Stove and the silent auction made lots of money for our charity. The benefit Barn Dance and dinner was also successful - someone paid $2100 for Super Bowl tickets during the live auction! Thank you to everyone who helped with our cook off, especially the fantastic volunteer staff of The Gingerbread House. Their support, hard work and dedication are what makes this cook off run so well and we couldn’t do it without them. We look forward to a bigger and better cook off in 2012!

Just want everyone to know that we will furnish sandwiches Friday at noon, cook's supper Friday night, Black Gold Breakfast Sat am, Southern Style Pulled Pork Supper Sat pm and Lorina's Cantina Breakfast Tacos Sunday morning.

Comstock Motel rooms are $58.71 including tax for regular room and $74.00 for kitchenette. Just remember we are feeding everyone so kitchenette might be wasted. Tell them you are with the Chili Cook-off to get these rates. Their number is 432-292-4484.

Also Desert Hills RV Park has some units to rent if he is not full. His number is 432-292-4451 or cell 830-317-4336.

Hope everyone knows that this is their chance to get 2 Bronze trophies at one cook-off; the traditional Bronze Panther and the added traveling Bronze Indian Maiden in memory of Richard Scott. These are both by Lloyd Goldwire.

From Carolyn Seelig:
Hello Ladies!

This is the February reminder, and this is the final notice:

As promised after the 2010 Texas Ladies State CCO, this is the reminder that each of you expressed an interest to join the group of ladies who have chosen to make individual contributions to the CASI National Scholarship Program in lieu of the traditional Texas Ladies State “good luck” giveaway tokens. This is the second contact and I believe all email addresses are correct.

If your intentions have not changed, please remember you are responsible to send in your contribution to the CASI National Scholarship Program Administrator prior to a March 1, 2011 deadline. Remember also, the amount of your contribution will remain anonymous. A Contribution Form is provided as an attachment that you can print, fill out and mail to the Scholarship Program Administrator. (The attachment is a Microsoft Word document that some of you may have to open, do a Print Preview to see the document as a one-page document, and then print.) The Scholarship Program Administrator will verify the receipt, but will not disclose the amount, of all contributions. The list of names will be used for fliers which will be handed out at TLS and for signage we hope to have ready to set up at the registration area.

Please feel welcome to extend an invitation to any other ladies perhaps interested in joining the group. Also, please forward their names along with any questions that may arise to the group contacts. The contacts at this time are:
