From Ken Rodd:
The chili cookoff for Del Valley, TX (Southeast Austin) for this Saturday, April 14th has been canceled. As the assigned referee for this cookoff, I called the promoter on Sunday and she informed me of this.

From Brent Allen:
Texas Ladies State is less than two weeks away. The Buzzard Bar is working on the menu of drinks for this great chili party for the ladies. At registration there will be bloody marys Sat. morning and something refreshing on Fri. afternoon. We will be there getting the party started Thursday night so come by, say hi, hang out awhile and have a drink or two. Then come back and join us on Friday and Saturday too. Good Luck to all the Ladies. It's going to be a blast.

From Jim Ezell:

RELAY FOR LIFE COOK OFF

If you don’t have plans for this weekend yet, come on out to Jim Ezell’s place in beautiful Wichita Falls for the Relay For Life chili cook off sponsored by Team Greg’s Plumbing. We will have embroidered chairs for top ten chilis and top beans. There will be many other items including a Tequila Rose Toast, Champagne for the winners, huge raffle and an auction of liquor baskets. Plenty of cold beer and Bloody Marys. Weather permitting; we have a traveling exhibit of rare penguins and polar bears in the main tank area. Due to the drought, we had to postpone the Ladies Catfish Riding. However, some of the past champions will be there to share their stories. There will be entertainment by Bill Ezell and the Texas Bored. Come on out, I promise you a good time. Just an hour and a half northwest of Dallas!

There will be a dinner Friday night. Plenty of RV parking, helicopter pad and camping space. Beans turn in Saturday at noon and Grind only chili at 2 pm Saturday the 14th.
