I am posting the Black Gold Chili Cookoff Flyer again since there were some problems with the one I posted yesterday. I hope this one works a lot better.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Mom had her neck surgery last Thursday to repair some disks. The surgery went well but she was quite sick on the anesthesia until late the next day. They thought at first she would have to stay another night in the hospital but she did finally get to go home. She is in a hard neck brace right now but will eventually go to the softer neck brace. She is up and moving around but is very sore and still not feeling that well. Please keep Mom in your prayers. If you want to contact her to wish her a fast recovery here is her information:

There were 42 cooks at the Horseshoe Pub cookoff in Comfort this past weekend. The weather was beautiful and we had a great public turn-out. The auction and raffle always draw a crowd, especially since it all benefits the local fire departments. The cookoff, auction, and raffle made $11,525.00 for the VFD’s this year!
