From Ron Barnes, Great Pepper TOT Pod:

Come join us for our annual Top Of Texas Pod/Cowtown Pod Christmas Party this Friday night (December 11th) at the Irving Elk's Lodge. We will have dinner starting at about 7:00 p.m. (the lodge is providing ham, turkey and dressing; we are asking for attendees to being side dishes). Wade Hatton and the Texas Hat Band will start at about 8:00 p.m. for your boot-scootin' pleasure. We will also have some great raffle items for those who bring canned or other dry goods for the food bank. If you don't or can't bring food items, tickets will be available for purchase with the money going to the food bank.

Then plan on coming back on Saturday and Sunday for a pair of great cookoffs at the lodge. Saturday is the 21st Annual Irving PER (formerly the Does) CCO. Entry fee $20 turn-in 2 PM. Beans $5, turn-in 12:30 PM, 100% payback. Elks division, $15 entry, free if participating in CASI division. Then on Sunday we will have the 2nd Chance CCO. It is a $15 entry with a noon turn-in.

We hope you can join us!

From Debbie Eiland Turner:

I'm getting ready to send out changes and additions to the Cooks Register. The current edition was delivered in November 2008. I will be sending e-mails to all who purchased the book soon. If you do not received an e-mail in a week, means I do not have a good e-mail address for you. Anyone who purchased a book but was not listed will listed in the Addendum. There are still some books left to purchase if you never got around to getting one. Send updates to goatgapgazette@sbcglobal.net

From Rocky Rockwell:
It's come to my attention that people are misinterpreting the trivia question for my North of 90 , East of 79 articles in the Trails. There is no deadline for submitting an answer. August 15 is not a deadline. Rather, once you figure out the North of 90, East of 79 reference, what was true about that prior to August 15 of this year as far as CASI is concerned?
