Food for Thought. As we get closer to September and the election of some new directors, I am going to share some of the duties a director may be assigned. Did you know that there are 5 special Committees? Each of these committees will be made up two or more Directors and members-at-large, as appropriate. One Director, appointed by the President, will be the chairperson of each committee.
Not only will we elect Directors, but we will also be looking for members-at-large for each of these committees.

As it gets closer to the end of our chili year and our Great Pepper's Meeting, some of you will be considering running for the Board of Directors. Do you know how the length of a Director's term is determined. IAW our Bylaws "The Board of Directors consists of six three-year term Directors, four two-year term Directors, and the Executive Director who serves a two-year term. At the annual meeting of the Great Peppers, two Directors will be elected to serve three-year terms, and two Directors will be elected to serve two-year terms. Terms will be determined by the number of votes received by each candidate. The two candidates receiving the greatest number of votes will hold three-year terms and the two candidates receiving the next greatest number of votes will hold two-year terms. Every other year the Executive Director will be elected to serve for two years."

Don't forget about the Poster Contest. If you are creative or know somebody who is, encourage them to enter the TICC Poster Contest for our 43 International CCO.
Poster Rules and Guidelines
CASI is looking for a unique, creative design that embodies the essence of TICC and CASI.
Artwork must be original and should include bold colors.
The dimensions of the two posters will be 18” X 24” and 11” X 17”. Submissions do not need to be that size, but they must maintain that proportion. The 11” x 17” poster is an informational poster. Copies of last years posters will be made available in PDF format upon request. These posters may be used as a guideline for some of the content required in the design.
Winning designs may also be used for souvenir TICC shirts.
All entries should include in the title, “43 Annual Terlingua International Chili Championship”, and the date, “November 7, 2009”. It must also list the names of the current Board members and include the CASI logo.
Designs may be sent electronically in a standard graphic format (PDF or JPG) or may be a hard copy, suitable for scanning.
Pictures of last year’s winners and sponsor logos will be made available and must be added to the poster design before printing. Changes to the wording and design may be requested by the Board.
If selected, the artwork becomes the sole property of CASI and the Terlingua International Chili Championship and may or may not be used in any manner CASI desires. The winning designer will receive credit with their name included on the final product.
Submission deadline will be June 20th. Entries must be sent to Janice Miller, 3014 Oak Mountain Trail, San Angelo, TX 76904 or garjans@suddenlink.net. Winning entries will be chosen at the Board of Directors Meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas on June 27, 2008.
Well, It is Friday. Another week has gone by. We are past the half way mark for this chili year. Hope each of you are getting close to being qualified. There are a lot of CCOs to chose to attend this weekend. I hope each of you attend one and have a great time cooking chili, helping out a charity, and most of all having a great deal of fun.
