The SAP CASI Fall Fest Cook-off held in Bandera was once

again a success. A Big Thank you to all that came out to join us. And to those that worked so hard to make it such a  success. On Friday night we enjoyed delicious Hobo Stew prepared by Clyde Rogers andd Kenny Morgenroth. Both days of  judging ran smoothly due to the hard work of Bob Steinle and Happy Hinman and Aida. The Tally team consisting of Clyde Rogers and crew did anther fine job. Saturday nights potluck was held at Kenny and Susie's motorhome so we thank them for their hospitality. Our referees did a great job as well. On Saturday the referee was Deb LaLanne and Sunday was Tracy Bond. Thanks to everyone that helped to make the Oct Fall Fest the event that it was. Without your help we couldn't have a successful cook-off.

This is a reminder of the things that I would like for you to give your utmost attention to please and thank you.

· Registration will be open beginning at 10:00 A.M., Thursday . When you come to register to cook chili, please stop by and register and pick-up your Old 320 Badge while you are in the area. That’s where I will be set-up.

· If you are not using your Site to cook on this year, I would like to have your permission to use your Site for a cook that is not fortunate enough to have one to use. I’ve had a lot of request already from cooks that would like to cook in the 320 Area and need a Site to cook on. THIS IS GOOD NEWS.
· If you have already given personal permission to someone to use your Site – I need to know that too so as not to have any mix-ups again this year.

· Great Peppers of The PODS that have Old 320 Sites, please let me know who will be using the PODS Site.

Volunteers needed for Old 320 Area. I need help with marking off the Sites in the Old 320 Area. Workers, I will need you to be at the Site Area at 9:30 A.M., Wednesday 11/03. I’ve had very good workers each year and hopefully I can depend on you me again this year. I sincerely appreciate your help.

There will be an Old 320 Meeting, Friday, Nov. 5th, immediately following the announcements of the Scholarship Events Winners. The meeting will take place in the Judging Area. This is Alcalde election year. I would love to see a good turn-out for the meeting and election. AND BY THE WAY, I AM THROWING MY HAT IN THE RING FOR RELECTION AND WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR VOTE.

Bo is not doing well. Chest fluid removed by plastic surgeon with drainage device. Will have over lapped muscles attached in 9 days to hold sternum in place. On fentanyl & ventilator & sleeping well. Issues with kidney output. Sugar dances around. Will be in the hospital for quite a while. It's time to step up to the plate for prayer. GET WITH IT!!!!!


NOTE:  We are leaving for Golden, Colorado today.  My Father's funeral will be on Monday morning.  He never met a stranger and he loved people.  I will miss him.

A special "Thanks" to all of you who have taken sent my family their prayers.  After I post tomorrow, we are leaving for Colorado.  I will still be able to get emails and will be able to post.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my father, Norman McClaren, died yesterday morning.  We will leave on Friday for Golden, CO and we will have his Funeral (a celebration of his life) on Monday morning.  He fought a hard battle, but one that he just could not win.  He was 87.  He and my Mother were married 67 1/2 years.  He was a great supporter of CASI.  I will truly miss him.

Quinlan is located approximately 45 minutes east of Dallas on state highway 276 and 15 miles south of Greenville on state highway 34. This will be a community event, but hope to draw people from all areas, to support our volunteer firefighters & first responders Funds raised during the event will go to the department to assist with costs such as vehicle maintenance and repairs, station maintenance, personnel safety, etc. We are looking forward to a successful event and hope to see you there! ATTENTION "Texas 42" DOMINO PLAYERS

We are planning a new event at TICC this year at TICC. It will be:

The TICC First Ever Almost Annual "Texas 42" Domino Tournament

Commonly called "42" this game is more formally known as "Texas 42" Dominos, but it is played in a lot of different areas besides Texas and anyone from anywhere wishing to participate is welcome and invited.

This tournament will be held on the judging stage at TICC on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 starting about 6:00 PM. We are still working out the organization and managing details and things like entry fees, time limits for games, methods of choosing partners, etc.

We anticipate that we will have a team limit of 16 (two person) teams.

At this point we expect the play will consist of two parts - first a set of four round-robin groups (Level one) and this will reduce our 16 teams down to four. The next level (Level two) will be a four team double elimination to determine the over-all champion.

In this format every team will play at least two games (likely three) and then if they succeed in moving to the next level there will be at least two more games. The eventual winner can lose one game in the level one round and another in the level two round and still have a chance for winning the tournament. The team winning the tournament must win at least 5 games (possibly more if they lose some games).

Entry fee will be set to pay for the prize (two sets of TICC Commemorative Dominos) for the winning team and make some money for the CASI Scholarship fund.

We are hoping to have a tournament that will provide the best and fairest possible competition for all teams. We also want to give the tournament players the best opportunity to demonstrate their skills at evaluating the hands they draw, bidding those hands to their highest potential, and then playing those hands to achieve the bids.

To help us to prepare for the competitors, please send an email to toko@goshawkenv.com and let me (Elton Homesley) know of your interest in participating in the tournament. Also anyone willing to help operate and run the tournament, please let me know that too.

We are using a lot of different resources to make this competition a reality and hopefully we'll have it all together soon.

We will probably follow a lot of the rules, info, and recommendations on this site. I recommend reading the various commentaries included.
