We would like to invite everyone out to our first time Proud Of Texas POD Cook Off at Hog Creek Ice House on June 23rd. We will also be having our 3rd Heart of Texas Triple Crown BBQ Cook Off.

This year there will be Jr. Chili / Jr. BBQ ( Chicken Only) ( Meat and Spices ONLY for both are provided) Other Categories are as follows: Beans ( DRY PINTO BEANS ONLY) (Lone Star BBQ will be doing BEANS): Wings ( Provided by Tyson Foods); Salsa; Homemade BBQ Sauce; BBQ Chicken, Ribs, Brisket; CASI Chili; and Business BBQ and Chili.

LOTS more stuff going on. Silent Auction, 50/50 Pot, Raffle for BBQ Pit, Vendors, Friday Night Live Entrainment as well as good food and cold cold beverages.

PLENTY RV parking, NO HOOK UP's. If your needing a place to stay we have special rooms rate's until June

Scholarship Recipient Reminder

It is now June and the end of the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters. Please remember that scholarship recipients will need to send me a copy of your grades for those two semesters so that I can ascertain whether or not they are eligible to receive funds for the Fall 2012 semester. Please get those grades to me by June 15^th. We plan to mail the fall checks by August 15^th if possible, but that will not happen if I do not have the recipient’s grades.

We are adding salsa and beans to the chili cook off in Marathon on June 30th. Salsa turn in will be 12:00 noon with an entry fee of $10.00, Beans turn in 1:00 pm an entry fee of $10.00. Seventy percent pay back.

There will be a cook's appreciation party Friday evening at the Marathon RV and Motel Kitchen Patio at 7:00.

Dawg Daze of Summer Sooner CCO at Gander Mountain in Corsicana will be on Saturday and Sunday, June 9^th and 10^th.  Saturday - CASI chili turns in is at 2 pm; 50/50 raffle, jackpot beans turn is at noon.  Junior (ages 8-17) chili turns in at 2 pm. Great raffle items. On Sunday – CASI chili turns in at Noon – no frills – points only.  Plenty of paved parking for RVs (dry camping) and Day Cooks.
