The York Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Staples residents would like to extend their appreciation to the chili cooks that came out to support their endeavors. With the wonderful generosity from the community and chili cooks, this cookoff was a huge success and generated over $4000 for the YCVFD and the Staples Fire Truck Fund. Thank you, Thank you!

May 29, 2010-005 - Mexia, TX CASI. 2nd Annual H-E-B Mexia H-E-B Mexia would like to invite everyone out to their 2nd Annual CASI Chili Cook Off.They where very inpressed with the turn out last year and would like to make it BIGGER & BETTER this year. No need to worry about lunch. The Store Director fired up the grill and cooked for all the Chili Cooks last year, and he said he would do it again this year. Location is 16000 NE 50th, West of Wichita on US 54 & 400 to K251 then north 4 miles Cook on East side of lake and south of the Marina. Daily vehicle permit $4.20 and camping permit is $8.50. Chili Grind only. Chili turn in 1:00 PM, entry fee is $18.00. Bring extra chili for People's Choice, ballot turn in 2:00 PM. Make checks payable to Sunflower Chili Pod. Make checks payable to High Desert Pod. Come out the night before for a cooks party sponsored by the Tombstone Lions Club. Lets make the streets of Tombstone and the OK Corral run red again, this time with Chili! Come to one of the most historic sites in the USA for a CASI cookoff. We're cooking on the main tourist street, so bring a canopy. There's plenty of siteseeing, historic re-enactments,gunfights, shopping, restaurants and fun. There is also always a big crowd, so bring plenty of chili for the tasting cups sales. Unique trophies for chili top 10 and show top 3.
