I want to again remind you to come out to Waxahachie this weekend for the 11th Annual Gingerbread House Cook Off held at the Ellis Co. Expo Center. Rain or shine, snow or sleet – we’ve got you covered. Indoor cooking, plenty of space for RV parking (dry camping, no hook ups), LIVE bands Friday and Saturday night, FREE BEER for cooks at the stew dinner Friday night and three opportunities to get your points and qualify for Terlingua. All in one weekend, all in one place and you get to have a great time the whole weekend! Please bring throw down chili for Friday night concession stand sales. Gates open at 10 am Friday morning for early arrivals. Chili grind only all weekend, turn in at 8 pm Friday night, 1 pm for all divisions Saturday, and noon on Sunday. Cooks also get free admission to the Benefit Barn Dance Saturday night and we will also have a Woodbridge sponsored Wine tasting, and a Bier Garden. Do you own a Bronze Trophy? If not, load up your car and head for Comstock, TX. Saturday is the 7th Annual Richard Hinds Memorial Scholarship Chili CookOff!!! It's going to be held at the Desert Hills RV Park in Comstock, Texas. The Champion will win 2 First Place Bronze Trophies by Lloyd Goldwire. Saturday starts with a Cook's Breakfast at 9:00 AM. Chili turn in is 2:00 PM. There will be a Dessert and Art Auction. The day will end with a Southern Style Pulled Pork Supper followed by a 42 Tournament. The winners of the 42 Tounament will receive a Commemorative Set of Dominos which are provided by Thunderbird Machinery, Odessa, TX.
Then on Sunday, we will start the day with Lorina's Cantina Brisket. Chili Turn in is 12:00 noon. This CCO benefits Comstock School Library.
