The Heat is On Chili Cookoff held in conjunction with Historic Mansfield Music Festival, located 100 West Oak St, between Smith and Oak St, exit Broad St off 287 South, about 6 miles south of I-H 20. Oct 15, 2011-008 - Lodi, CA CASI. Woodbridge Winery Chili Cookoff Welcome to the 9th annual Chili Cook-off at the Woodbridge Winery near Lodi, CA. Lodi Wine Country is located about 90 miles east of San Francisco, nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Here you'll enjoy warm days and cool, pleasant evenings. This event is the official Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) California State Championship and proceeds will benefit the Lodi Public Library Foundation. This year's cookoff will feature competition in five categories: CASI-sanctioned chili, People's Choice chili, salsa, guacamole and CASI showmanship. The centerpiece of the cookoff is chili and a traditional bowl of red is the goal. This event will be sanctioned by the Chili Appreciation Society Intl and the winning cook plus the top three California-resident cooks will automatically qualify to compete in the legendary Terlingua International Chili Championship (TICC) in November 3th, 2012. Benefits Search One rescue "Hot Diggity Dog Chili Cook Off" -The Search One Rescue Team. They train search and rescue dogs and they are the ones that go out when there is a missing child or elderly person. Talk about dedication! We have a large sandy lot, that the cooks can drive on for the CCO. And, we have large covered areas for inclement weather. We have a large training yard where folks can see the training dogs in action. We have one of Texas largest boarding, training and day care facilities here.
