Angie and I would like to thank all of our 45 chili cookers for making the trip to our 1st cook-off in Hico.A very special thanks to Kay Lefler for helping us put all the information about the CCO on facebook and getting it listed in the blog. Thanks to our table monitors Beth Baxter, Bab's Johnson, and Francis Sullivan; our table runners Kris Stewart, Larry and Grace Walton, Pat Millich, my sister and brother in law D'ann and Mark Holbert; our tally team Buda, Jim Trietsch, Kris Stewart, and also thanks to Buda for cooking burgers on Friday night.
Last but not least I want to personally thank my wife Angie for all the hard work she put into this cookoff from start to finish to make this cook-off a success as she always does. Hopefully with everyone's help we can make this a bigger cook-off next year. Thanks again to everyone.
From Mikie McGarity:
Once again, Roger Foltz has been kind enough to say that he would call me with the winners from TICC. If you would like for me to email you or call you, I'll be happy to do it. You can let me know either at my email (mikie@mcgarity.org) or phone (817-975-2200). I look forward to hearing from you.

Thursday Night at Central Texas Membership Party HLP (Carrie) is going to need some help at the party registering guest. I will not be able to attend TICC this year so I would appreciate it if some of you would step up and help Carrie in my place. I know many of you have other Pods to support. If you can we need help. Thanks and Good Luck to all. Love Ruby

From Lajitas Spa and Resort:
The Lajitas Spa and Resort has plenty of R/V sites available for the Chili Cook Off; and, the offer electrical, waste, water, and cable hook-ups; NOT TO MENTION plenty of indoor showers!
The Lajitas Spa and Resort is a CASI Sponsor!
From Jim Ezell:
We need to remind everyone to come to TICC prepared to take boxes back to everyone in their area. I have four pallets of new boxes with logos on them. That is several thousand dollars worth of advertising.
From Bruce Pinnell:
The CASI Ranch will have limited WiFi Service again this year. The service will be available from Oct 28th to Nov 6th 24 hours per day. The signal will be broadcast from three (3) locations and should reach most of the ranch. The cost will be $5/day or $20 for the whole event. It will be offered on first come, first served basis. The service will be limited the 100 users.
To access the internet, select the ‘Rancho CASI’ network from your laptop. Then, open your internet browser, select your plan (daily vs. weekly) and enter your credit card info on the secure web page. That’s it.
Because the service uses relatively low capacity internet circuits (the fastest available in the area), we need you to know about some restrictions before you sign up. These restrictions are necessary to allow more people to have access to basic internet services. The following uses will not be allowed, except in an emergency: Large updates from Microsoft, Adobe or Apple websites, video streaming from web cams, or recorded TV (Hulu), audio streaming from TV or radio stations, or video intensive gaming. There is no restriction for normal email and web browsing activities. There will be several websites that have free access. These include the CASI website, major sponsor websites, the Weather Channel, and others that may be added for public safety reasons.
If you have questions about the service, please contact Bruce Pinnell at 210.372.0469.
