Texas Ladies State
Just another reminder that we need items for the Silent Auction. If we all go out and ask for donations we can make this a banner year. The Silent Auction team will be out Saturday morning at 9:00 am (did I say that early) to start excepting items. I would like to see so many items presented that we would need more tables than we figure. I could use some help if there are any men out there that have some spare time Saturday. Any questions about the Silent Auction or if you would like to help please contact me at chilitime@sbcglobal.net or (210) 415-6855.

Just a little update on my mom, Terry Tenery. Many of you have been asking about her! She has been in a skilled nursing facility for the last month and a half receiving chemo treatments for the multiple myeloma that she has. Those treatments basically did not work, so now we are moving to a second level of chemo starting this Friday. We were able to move her back home so that we can protect her from other all the stuff that gets passed around in a public facility. If anyone would like to send a card or drop a line, I know that she would be thrilled to hear from you! Please keep her in your prayers!
Her email is tltenery@ktc.com
Her mailing address is: 846 Upper Turtle Creek Rd, Kerrville, TX 78028
From Terry Jones:
April 30th, Myrtle Beach Inaugural CASI Chili Cook-Off
We’re just two weekends away from our event on April 30th. I met with Jay Bultz, my chili coordinator, today. We are a little concerned in the fact that only three CASI cooks have made reservations at the Hampton Inn Oceanfront. We don’t really know who, or how many, CASI cooks will show up. For those that will be arriving in RV’s, I have made arrangements with Myrtle Beach KOA at $49.50 per night. KOA is only eight blocks from the festival.
CASI Turn in time has been moved to 12:00 Noon and public chili tasting will not begin until after that time. Cooks can set up as early as 8AM.
The cooks will be able to drive right to the cook site for loading and unloading and will be able to park nearby. All efforts will be made to make it easy for you.
We expect to have at least 4,000 in attendance so please bring extra chili. We will sell wrist bands to taste the chili in 2 oz. cups. Depending on the number of chili cooks we have, I don’t think 5 gallons per cook would be unreasonable for the first event. Anything ya’ll can do will be appreciated.
I am hopeful that the word will be circulated and we will have a successful first CASI Chili Cookoff in Myrtle Beach.
Yours in CASI fellowship.
Terry
