Think about attending this chili cookoff - cooks starting to arrive now 5 days before the event. This allows them plenty of time to visit the Margarita Pub and Grill - home of the 64 ounce Margarita, the Seagrass Pub - home of the $1.50 Happy Hour mixed drinks, the Freezer - where crabs are just a bowl of peanuts to them, and lots of other places.

Oct 9, 2010 - Homosassa FL CASI/OPEN Southeast Chili Cookoff. Held at Natures RV Resort on the waterfront. Entry fee $20, turn- in 2 PM. RV sites and Cabins available at special rates for Chili Cooks, call Frieda at 800- 301-7880 for reservation at the chili rate. Friday night cooks get together at the marina lounge. Lecanto Levi 4-H group to host National CASI Chili cook off . Local 4-H club, Lecanto Levis are honored to be chosen to host the 9th Annual CASI Chili Cook off for Charity. Held at Natures RV Resort on the waterfront. Chili Entry fee $20, turn in time 2 PM. Chili must be cooked/prepared on site. Advance gate tickets are available at Dr. Sanon office in Beverly Hills, Verizon Phone Store, Homosassa, Home Instead senior care, Lecanto, and Phairadise Salon, Inverness. Admission is $3.00 each, under 5 free. There will be entertainment, Live bands, Food vendors, Miss Chili Pepper Beauty Pageant, Classic Car show, Poker run, 50/50 drawings, Arts and craft vendors. Poker run sponsored by Curry Roofing. 50/50 payoff. Start time 10 AM at Crystal River Harley Davidson. Last bike in at the Nature coast RV at 4 PM.
RV sites and cabins available at special rates for Chili Cooks. Friday night and Saturday night cooks get together at the marina lounge. Chili Cook Off on Saturday for the clubs chosen charities of Relay for Life, Team Eddie, and the Hernando Elementary school food backpack program. Gate proceeds also goes to the charities. Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Teams tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times, to symbolize that Cancer never sleeps. The Hernando Elementary school backpack program sends food home every Friday with approx 40 homeless and low income children for the weekend.
