From Jim Ezell:
We are starting to get some rain at Terlingua since La Nina has lifted. There was a torrential storm Monday evening that dropped at least an inch of rain. It was accompanied by straight line winds of anywhere from 70 to 90 miles per hour. There was hail piled up against my house 6 inches deep. Much damage was suffered in town, with the roof torn off of the Terlingua store and several RVs flipped. The desert can really be a violent place and we need to keep that in mind with our facilities.
There was no damage at CASI fortunately, but I had water flashing across the highway 18 inches deep in front of my house.
From Darin Jester:
I am announcing that I am seeking re-election. Thank you all for your help and support over the past two years, and I am looking forward to serving with all of you through another term.
From Kalena Hiel:

Houston Pod and CASI have been named "Purple Patrons" for 2012 by Purple Songs can Fly, a support group for pediatric cancer patients at Texas Children's Hospital. The group has a studio on the oncology floor where the children can record their voices, a lasting gift for family and friends.
Houston Pod has raised $3500 over the last two years to maintain the studio and help purchase new equipment. Recently we were invited to a concert by the children who performed their original works. Pictured is Layla, the youngest performer and Anita Kruse the director of PurpleSongscanFly.org.
