Vigilante Days Chili Cookoff is on Saturday, the 7th of August. Note this is SATURDAY.
First and Second prize trophies are cook stoves, 3rd place prize trophy is a chili pot.
The cooks party is on SATURDAY, after the cookoff and awarding of winners trophies/certificates. Please stick around afterwards and enjoy some cameraderie with the Cowboys who are part of the festivities.

Heads Up Folks, There is still time and there are still rooms available for the Great Peppers Meeting.
The Motel is full, however there are Condos there is a Bed & Breakfast you can stay at for the same price. The Bed & Breakfast is not the same number as the Motel. It is 254-947-8200 the ladies name is Donna. Also at the Bed & Breakfast there are NO PETS Allowed.

Hey gang. See attached for info on a really great CCO in Kemah. Last year’s CCO was a really grand time. This Elks Lodge put a lot of work into it, and they will again this year. They do a Friday nite steak dinner, and it was delicious!!! Plus, they have a swimming pool that we can use. And, if you come early, the Kemah Boardwalk is just a short drive away; always a fun time there. This is one CCO you don’t want to miss. NOTE:
If your Pod is interested in hosting next year's Texas Open, you must apply . The application is to be sent to the Executive Director. If more than one Pod applies for this Open Championship, there will be a Texas Caucus on Friday at the Great Pepper's Meeting following the Round Table discussions.
Remember that if your Pod or Pods within your state wants to host a State Men's and Women's Open Championship, it must also be applied for at the Annual CASI Great Pepper's Meeting. A Pod or Pods in as state not having currently recognized mens and/or women's open championship, but where the state was reognized as a 12 point state in the prior cooking year, may apply for CASI approval.
