From Patsy Childress: The above is the Registration Form for the 2009 Great Pepper's Meeting being held in Midland, TX.

From Ed Blair:
I just received the news from Mark Dillard:Terry Gust of Pasadena, Texas, a CASI Lifetime Member, died today. He was diagnosed with Leukemia yesterday and passed away today.

From Bill Pierson:
Cheryl's lumpectomy was not successful. The type of cancer (lobuler) is not just one tumor but several small tumors. The pathology results also showed cancer in a couple of the lymph nodes. At this time there is only cancer in one breast, but there is a pretty good likelihood it will develop in the other. So we are looking at a double mastectomy. This will probably take place in early April.

Notes from ED:
I was contacted by Lisa Bu who is the Web producer for “Here on Earth” program (http://www.wpr.org/hereonearth/archive_090313k.cfm) of the Wisconsin Public Radio. Next Friday, March 13, she is hosting a show about Chili. In her research, she found our CASI web site. She wanted somebody from CASI to discuss what makes a good chili, what are the secrets to cooking a great chili and the history of chili. This program will be broadcasted at 3 PM CDT. It is an hour program. Honey Jones, one of our TICC winners and also a Texas Ladies State Champion will be part of this program. The program will also feature Jane Butel, author of “Chili Madness” and “Real Women Eat Chili.” This should be a very interesting program. I have request a tape of the broadcast. Lisa has also provided a link to CASI on her web page.

I will be out of town for the rest of this week and do not know if I will have access to the internet so I may not have any more Posts until next week. If I get more information before noon, i will make a second Post today. I am sorry for any inconvenience. I am including next weekend’s list of CCOs today. Hopefully, each of you can plan a weekend of chili cooking.
