From Lisa Tyson:
Make plans today to attend the San Miguel de Allende CCO in Jan.
We launched our website at www.chiliandcharros.com. We will update it constantly as we finalize our list of sponsors, and as we get more information about prizes, the silent auction, etc. So it is a work in progress, but it gives you an idea of where we are going. (You will see that the prizes for our Open Contests are pretty amazing - so hopefully that will give people even more incentive to come to Mexico!)

You will also see on the website that American Airlines has agreed to give us a group discount for the event. The amount of the discount will depend on how many people are coming down, so the sooner people get signed up the better!

From Rick Thomas:

From Ken Rodd:
If you have to be somewhere cooking chili this Saturday & Sunday - it could be in Homosassa, Florida - home of the 64 ounce Margarita. You still have time to get here.

From Mama Sue Caffey:
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You came, you cooked, you stayed, you brought and bought Auction items and you drank beer at Giddy Ups. You worked, you helped run the show both days, and at night. You are the bestest bunch around and I am so proud you are our family. We left the Soccer Field with big ruts, but you started pulling money out of your pockets to pay the groundskeeper "Swiss Mike", as Nancy said he would do the work getting the ruts smoothed out. You are a wonderful group and I am proud to run with you. Also, we had no fun, did we?

We wish to thank those of you who came and cooked both days. Attendance was really down, but again,
we had a lot of other cook offs this year.

Special thanks to all who came and helped. We didn't make a lot of money but we had a lot of fun and the love and friendship flowed. A big hug to all of you especially Jessie and Jeannette who gave us their Sugarfoot" motorhome from Thursday trough Monday and did so much for us. We thank Doc and Carrie and Keith and Jean and Joe and Mike that came early and helped John put up all the awnings, the Tenerys for making our cook off their maiden voyage in their new 40 ft diesel. Thanks for all the special love and favors from all of you. Thanks to our Judge JNette and the referee Steve Ashman and just everybody. We are still reeling from our fire, so everyone of you helped in any and every way, mostly just by being there.

God Bless Us All and God Bless America. Mama Sue

Today starts the new Chili Year 2009-2010.  We all have equal points and that is 0.  So now comes the race to see who can qualify first.  Here is hoping this is a great chili year for all of us.

Today you can go to the web page and the Resource Center to find the following new posted documents: Amend Bylaws, the Amended Rule Book, the new list of Regional Referees, the new National Scholarship Program Policy, and the new National Scholarship Application.  Thank you Jim Stateczny for posting those documents.  I want to also thank Bill Pierson for assisting me in the formating of the Rule Book.  It had been updated several times and had several different formats within it.  Thanks again  Bill.  I have also posted the Sep 11 Board of Director's Meeting Minutes in the History Section of CIS.
