From Elton Homesley:
Dear TICC bound Chilihead,

I have been asked to put together a "42" tournament out there. It will be Tuesday evening (November 2nd) after the Sotol Pod cookoff. Starting about 6:00 PM. It doesn't seem to have made many of the calendars being circulated around.

From Debbie Lalanne:
The Fredericksburg Jaycees have been working hard to make the 1st annual cook off on October 23rd at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds a big hit and is looking forward to meeting all the cooks. There is a couple of items that Bruce Kneese called me on this morning.

1. Judging will be held under the covered pavilion however we will not be able to cook under the pavilion. Please bring your easy up's for shade. All cooks will be in one area.

2. When entering the fairgrounds the $20 admission fee will have to be paid at the time of entry. Chili cooks will be given a ticket which can
be taken to registration and count as payment of the chili cook off registration fee.

If you need additional information please contact Bruce Kneese at 830-889-5036 or Debbie LaLanne at 830-510-4956. Hope to see you there.

From Dana Plocheck:
Good morning everyone,

The November issue of the Trails is ready for viewing on the CIS. WOW! The Terlingua Championship is just 16 days away! I hope everyone has a safe journey on their way to Terlingua and I look forward to seeing you there.

NOTE:  A CCO advertised for November 13 (See Below) is NOT a CASI CCO.

The Daytona Cubs annual Chili-Cook Off will be held on Saturday November 13 at Jackie Robinson Ballpark from 12 p.m.- 5 p.m., with proceeds going to benefit the Halifax Humane Society. The Halifax Humane Society exists to protect animals from cruel, neglectful and exploitative treatment.

NEW SPONSOR (From Jim Ezell):
Please welcome Herman and Deanna Everett as new Friends of CASI Sponsors. They are the owner/operators of the High Sierra Bar and Grill and El Dorado Hotel at the Terlingua Ghost Town. The High Sierra is the new hot spot in Terlingua with food, beverages and entertainment.

They will be providing a 100.00 gift certificate to the TICC winner and lesser amounts to the top 10 chili, top show, chili head of the year, and great pepper of the year.

With the Starlight closed for renovations and awaiting liquor licenses most of the activity has shifted to the High Sierra.

NOTE:
Thanks to all of you who have sent expressions of sympathy to my family and myself.  We will miss my Father.  He was always happy and a very positive person.
