BLACK GOLD CHILI POD OF THE PERMIAN BASIN AND CONCHO VALLEY CHILI POD
WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO THEIR
ANNUAL TERLINGUA ICE CREAM SOCIAL

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD
AT THE BLACK GOLD/CONCHO VALLEY CAMP

FROM 12:30 PM UNTIL 2:30 PM
(OR THE ICE CREAM RUNS OUT)

From Gil Hewlett:
Lou is still in the hospital. She is getting a CT Scan this morning. She may get out tomorrow.

From Jim Ezell:
I would like to encourage all the Pods to bring out their banners to display at their camps or up in the arena. The more color around the grounds, the more festive it is. If a pod does not have a banner, I would suggest they go to their local beer distributor and ask if they will make them one. The larger distributors have sophisticated printers that will make banners with logos, pictures, script or anything you want. There logo is also off to the side, so they get publicity also. It just takes a couple of 3.00 T poles and you are good to go anywhere. We have many interesting pod logos and I would like to see them at TICC.

From Mike Mayorga:
Don't forget this is the night of the Last Chance
CCO.
From Jim Ezell:

As we approach TICC I would once again ask our membership to take advantage of our wonderful buying price for Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi wines. With the sponsorship and our discounted volume buy we are able to offer 12 bottle 750ml cases for only 55.00 which includes all taxes. This brings the cost per bottle below 5.00 and is a tremendous opportunity to stock up for the holiday season. This price cannot be beaten anywhere so give me an idea if you may want some before I place the CASI order.

We will be featuring the Cabernet/Merlot blend, Lightly Oaked Chardonnay, Moscato, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and White Zinfandel. I can get other flavors if requested before I make this order.

Support this great sponsor and take advantage of these savings. Remember all those great goodie bags they have given.

Let me know if I can count you in.

From Dave Hewlett:

Above is a new CCO in Lewisville, TX on Oct 2. The ad in the trails is in error as the turn in time is to be 2PM. The promoter is new and did not know how to set up a CCO. Delora Goin(RR) is now working with him to get it going. There is a FAIR in conjunction with the CCO. The city requires that the meat be in a wrapper and the cooks should plan on having the store receipt. Strange but sometimes the cities do strange things. But in the past when they have had a local CCO with the fair no city person showed up to check. As the promoter is new he did not know to do Beans.

From Wappo:
Ray King has been hospitalized since Sept 13. He is getting better and hopes to be moved to rehab very shortly. Please keep Ray and Pat in your prayers.

From Gil Hewlett:
I had to put Lou back in to Trinity Mother Francis. Her lungs are better, but now she is dehydrated and has kidney problems. She is going to be there a day or so. Her room is 490-2. 903-531-5890.

I just found out last night that our Oct 2, 2010 cookoff has been CANCELED.  This is the one inHernado, MS at the Barn.

From Ron Barnes:
Come out Saturday to the First Methodist Church in Hurst. We have the Uncle Sam's Eagle Scout Project cookoff with a noon turn-in. Entry is only $3 plus items to put in graduation baskets. These baskets are for abused children who completed counseling sessions with the Alliance for Children Center in Hurst. Recommended items can be gift cards, journals, pens and pencils, small stuffed animals, small puzzles and games, picture frames, etc. Cash donations to purchase these items are also welcome. The church is located near the corner of Pipeline and Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Take the driveway north from Pipeline to the upper grounds; that is where the cooking and judging will take place. Since this is for children and we will be on church grounds, we ask that alcohol not be consumed on property. Come on out and support this worthy cause and, if you are still looking, get those last chili points you need for Terlingua. Hope to see you there!

From Jim Ezell:
TICC WINE OPPORTUNITY

Jim Ezell
jezell8642@aol.com
I will also have outstanding beer prices when I get the new schedule.

From Jim Stateczny:

Here is what I know as of now:
I have been doing some research on some of the problems folks are having with Windows 7 and the Tally program. It seems that Windows 7 has some issues with screen resolutions and things displaying correctly. It seems that any screen resolution setting lower than “1400x1050” will cause the screen not to always display items correctly. It seems that the “1050” is the critical parameter.

Now as far as the printer is concerned, I have no idea. I hooked my Windows 7 notebook up to several laser printers, and the results printed properly. From talking to a few of our members this weekend, they claim that the printer selection box is not appearing when they tell the program to print, and thus nothing is printed. I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this, since my computer is working properly. I know of nothing out of the ordinary that anybody has done to my computer that would cause it to work properly.
Dennis Jackson's services are set for. Visitation tomorrow Wednesday 9-15-10 from 7-8PM.

Funeral will be Thursday at the Cowboy church (where Glyn’s was) 10 am.  The address for this church is
Texoma Cowboy Church
919 US Highway 281 (Old Jackboro Hiway)
